The Blair School has a tripartite mission: it effectively provides (a) intensive academic instruction and professional training to collegiate music majors, (b) performance and classroom instruction to pre-collegiate and adult students (the School’s historical foundation), and (c) a broad array of rigorous courses to University students who are not music majors. All three elements of this mission are robust to a degree seldom seen in music schools, and this diverse mission is one of the Blair School’s greatest strengths.
