The mission and major aim of The Boiler Room Theatre from the beginning was to bring to the Williamson County area a viable arts venue, a live professional performing arts theatre, which would give the people of Franklin, Brentwood, and the surrounding area a place to experience highest quality theatre performances in their own backyards so to speak. This is still The Boiler Room Theatre's main purpose and the reason for which it was formed, but also, the theatre is glad to provide a place of employment for many Tennessee actors and musicians of the very highest caliber and to nurture budding actors in its children's camps and youth camp performances. The Boiler Room also utilizes the services of technical people for lighting and set design and construction, costumers, marketing and box office personnel, stage managers and production directors. The theatre also has an intern program which affords needed hours for students in theatre , in the beginning from Belmont University and then the last few years from MTSU in Murfreesboro, which in turn helps the theatre. Several students have trained at The Boiler Room assisting in lighting, audio, stage managing, props, etc., graduated with their major from their university only to either continue working or come back to work at the theare. Case in point, Katie Gant, who has done an excellent job in The Boiler Room's Technical Program, presently is the theatre's Resident Stage Manager.
