Organizations in GivingMatters.com must meet the following criteria:

  • Nonprofit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status
  • Nonprofits organizations with a State Solicitations Permit or exemption letter
  • Nonprofits serving the Middle Tennessee area
To begin a profile in GivingMatters.com, please email the following information and documents to admingivingmatters@cfmt.org.

Document needed to request a profile:                   

  1. The IRS 501 (c) (3) letter of nonprofit determination from the federal government
  1. The State Charitable Solicitations Permit from the TN Secretary of State; if you have questions about this permit, contact the state at 615-741-2555 or www.tennessee.gov/sos/charity

Next Steps

A GivingMatters.com staff member will review your request. If all the documents are received, you will receive a username and password by email to begin building your nonprofit profile.
 
GivingMatters.com is an online self-entry process. You will enter information about your organization’s programs, board, history, etc. The Community Foundation will verify and enter information in the financial section. In order to complete the financial section, we will request numerous documents (i.e. 990s, audits, budgets…)

GivingMatters.com staff are available to support you through the profile process. Generally, we want to complete a profile within 4-6 weeks of receiving a request. Since a profile takes about 4-12 hours of your staff time to complete, please submit your request when you have time available to complete a profile on this timeline.
 
We offer training to familiarize you with the GivingMatters.com system.  The trainings are held the first and third Thursdays of the month from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. at The Community Foundation (3833 Cleghorn Ave, 37215).  Please RSVP by e-mailing admingivingmatters@cfmt.org.
