The Community Foundation Discretionary Grant

 

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is pleased to announce that the Discretionary Grant Application and Guidelines are now available on the website.

 

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee awards grants for a broad array of charitable purposes in the areas of education, health, social services, and for general community programs that improve the well-being of the residents of the Middle Tennessee area.

 

Applications for Discretionary grants will be accepted from tax-exempt, non-profit organizations serving Middle Tennessee. Gifts will be made in the field of the arts and humanities, conservation and preservation, environment, education, employment and training, health and human services, housing and economic and community development.

 

The application can be found online.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  Beginning in 2010, The Community Foundation is pleased to announce our newly developed online, internet-based grant application process for Discretionary Grants.  Please print and read the Online Application Instructions form carefully BEFORE you attempt to complete and submit your application.

 

A complete and current GivingMatters.com profile is required for the grant application.

Through Humana Communities Benefit, Humana will award a one-time $100,000 signature grant to a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, in the Nashville area, focused on improving health experiences or building healthy communities in the areas of:
 
Childhood health and education - Projects or initiatives that seek to improve health and academic achievement of children through the educational landscape
 
Family wellness and active lifestyles - Projects or initiatives that strengthen the health of family through physical, social, mental, emotional, or environmental support
 
Health literacy for diverse populations and seniors - Projects or initiatives dedicated to improving people's ability to access, understand, and use health information, especially low-income populations, and seniors

 

Sponsored by the Humana Foundation, the goal of this $100,000 contribution to a nonprofit is to make a positive, transformational impact on the organization that allows it to reach greater milestone goals.

 

This opportunity is open to nonprofits serving the following counties:

Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson & Wilson.
